We've all experienced that inner voice leading us to revise our narrative work until a draft simply "reads better." This talk identifies goals and methods for more deliberate editing. We'll sort through many specific tips, some familiar and some novel, and figure out how and why they can work to make your texts more lucid and enjoyable.

 Mark Kramer is  our event's 'founding father. He has written hundreds of articles and book reviews, four books on narrative nonfiction, and two anthologies and guidebooks for writers in the genre.  
He taught for a decade each at Smith College and at Boston University as Writer-in-residence, founded the Nieman Program (and conference) on Narrative Journalism at Harvard, and consults often at publications and universities around the world.
