About me
Mark Kramer is our event's 'founding father. He has written hundreds of articles and book reviews, four books on narrative nonfiction, and two anthologies and guidebooks for writers in the genre.
He taught for a decade each at Smith College and at Boston University as Writer-in-residence, founded the Nieman Program (and conference) on Narrative Journalism at Harvard, and consults often at publications and universities around the world. He plays in a traditional contradance band and lives in Boston with his wife, Karen, an artist and gardener. He periodically offers an ongoing zoom seminar, 'The Kitchen Workshop' for working writers developing or engaged with longform narrative projects.
